Learn how to import images to your projects
To import images into Fable, choose the method best suited to your workflow.
Ways to import
Drag and Drop
Simply drag compatible image files from your computer into the Editor.
Fable creates a rectangle matching the image size, setting the image as a fill.
Copy-Paste
Copy images from your computer or other design tools and paste them directly into the Editor.

Upload in Color Panel
For existing shape layer(s), set an image fill in the color panel.
Open the color panel, switch fill mode to Image, and click
Upload
.
Asset Browser
Drag your image into the open Asset Browser or click
Upload Assets
from the menu.All added images are listed in the Asset Browser.
Drag images from the Asset Browser onto the Canvas or Timeline to add them to your project.
Supported image formats
PNG
JPG
WebP
Maximum image size
Fable downsizes images larger than 7,680 pixels to maintain proportions.
Image properties
Once a layer has an image fill set, it will display updated iconography across the Editor. There are a few properties unique to images that can be found in Image mode on the Color Panel:
Image Source: Swap an image to another file in your asset browser.
Image Sizing:
Cover: Centers and scales to fill the entire object.
Contain: Centers and scales to fit the object, showing the entire image.
Animating controls:
Dimensions: Adjust width and height.
Corner Radius: Control rounded corners.
Restoring dimensions
Right-click the layer on the Timeline or Canvas.
Select
Reset image dimensions
to restore shape layer dimensions to the source image.
